A George II Scottish silver inverted pear shaped teapot. Edinburgh 1755. Maker: James Mackenzie. Crested in the Scottish manner with the Macdonald crest. Pro rege en tyrannos. Assay Masters mark: Hugh Gordon. Weight 18ozs troy. This teapot has a later, very intersting and historic inscription on the base. To Sir Harry and Lady Lauder from Lord and Lady Forteviot, a remembrance of a happy evening. June 3rd 1927.
