A fine George III silver sauce tureen and cover.  Made by John Beldon, London 1787.  The boat shaped tureen is supported on a pedestal foot and has two reeded hoop handles and conforming cover.  Hallmarked on the base and partial marks on the lid bearing lion rampant, monarch’s head and makers initials IB.  There is the family crest for Aberneathy, Ludlow, Parrott, Perot and Thurlow inscribed on the side of a parrot holding in the dexter claw a pear. Size 21.3cm x 17.5cm.  Weight 14.7 oz troy.
