Description

A Scottish silver wine jug with Bacchus pouring spout.  Of baluster form decorated with floral scrolls and the lid with a stylised flower and scroll finial.  Bacchus was the ancient Greco-Roman god of wine.  Maker James Mackay, Edinburgh 1844.  Weight 31oz troy.  Height 25.5cm x 23.5cm width.
