Description

A U-shape Worcester coffee cup with a gold grooved loop handle and spear head gilt rim inside outlined in black. Decorated with Chinese family in a garden with a runaway buffalo being jumped on by a boy, the old man being comforted by a young boy with a sore foot possibly from the buffalo. The ladies are by the house, one with a fan, one caring for a child and the other holding a basket of flowers and a boy in the house. There is gilt scroll work outlined in black with a tree and roses around the handle and a floral motif inside on the base. 6.5cm high. This cup is lot number 301 from the Dr C. M. Signy collection.
